leibniz
an even younger leibniz
it seems that my fair sister has given birth to a young tyke, and has chosen to name him after me. it made for a long weekend, but we were so thrilled to be there. our mother, visiting another sister of mine (who had also, only five days earlier, added another boy to the family), caught the first plane back in an attempt to arrive before the birth; but, she unfortunately missed the event by only a couple of hours. in the meantime, we held down the fort.
aside: dearest sisters, would you mind staggering the births a bit next time? this is the second time in the last two years you have done this, and i believe it is driving our mother a bit mad - what, with all the back and forth at birthing times!
mrs L and i now have a respective niece/nephew who have been named for us. the odd thing is that, in both cases, the parents decided to slightly alter the spelling of our names. i suppose, then, that they are only phonetically named after us. hopefully, they will use it to make their own marks upon this cruel world.
