1) the chef is a mate with whom i compose music. plus, he likes cilantro.

2) despite my station as mathematician / philosopher and his as chef of cilantro, neither of us possess material wealth (i.e., we are white-collar working stiffs), so working together is a hobby. it is nice when we find some obligatory reason to prioritize our time towards music.
